Honda Passport Parts

Discount Honda Acura Mitsubishi Parts regularly conducts Honda and automobile industry related research and posts its findings online for the benefit of its customers. The comments presented below represent a sampling of popular opinions and research about the Honda Passport. Honda automobile owners in need of genuine replacement parts or accessories for the Honda Passport or other Honda models can go online to browse and conveniently purchase selections at www.discounthondaacuramitsubishiparts.com or at www.discount-honda-auto-parts.com.

The Honda Passport first came about in 1994. Positioned as a compact SUV the Passport was actually manufactured by Isuzu. The approach allowed Honda to make a quick entry into this segment of the US market for SUVs. The Isuzu branded version of the vehicle was known as the Rodeo. The vehicle was based on a pickup truck platform and in its day it drew comparisons to the Jeep Cherokee and Mitsubishi Montero Sport. The Honda Passport had a reputation for an attractive feature set, however, reviews of the vehicle considered its design somewhat dated in comparison with its competition.

Honda’s partnership with Isuzu included other vehicles including the Isuzu Trooper SUV which was sold in the US as the Acura SLX. Honda in turn also made cars marketed under the Isuzu brand. These included the Isuzu Gemini and Isuzu Oasis.

The so-called second generation Honda Passport was available from 1998-2002. As with other Honda models there were two trim levels available including the LX and the more upscale EX. The model was discontinued completely as a new offering from Honda after 2002. Instead Honda replaced the Passport with the successor vehicle the Honda Pilot.

The Honda Pilot from the outset became a leader in the midsize crossover SUV market. The Honda Pilot is generally known for offering good power, fuel economy, and ample interior comfort and versatility. The Pilot seats up to 7 or 8 passengers and represents and alternative to the minivan.

The current Honda Pilot features more rugged styling in its appearance and is available with front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Four trim levels are offered including the LX, EX, EX-L and Touring. The cargo capacity is 87 cubic feet so the Pilot is capable of handling most demands made by typical family drivers.
